Even if you haven’t done anything, could that be an event in itself?
Monday February 2nd 2009: Early morning, a rare occasion as we woke up. Snow and about eight inches of it had fallen during the night. On this island that doesn’t happen often, at least not as much as this. It was 18 years ago since last time they say. And as a result, most things public transport and so on came to a halt. But yesterday’s weather was fairly good, windy and a bit cold though. Marianne and I had a great day, going to a harbor pub for some beer and crab salad and after that strolling along for a couple of hours looking at people and window shopping. We didn’t do much really, for us the non-doing-things sometimes are more important than to be active all the time. So waking up this morning, with snow all around, didn’t bother us that much.
In some sense we repeat ourselves on our stays here, we enjoy going out dining, visiting our favorite restaurants once more. It has become a sort of tradition we don’t want to miss. People are friendly here and there is a nice quiet pace characterizing this small island and we like that a lot.
So even if Marianne and I most likely are going to stay put and only go out for some small shopping and buy food for evening dinner, that doesn’t mean that nothing is happening. For instance, I received this confirmation that Marianne and I have got a stand at the Gothenburg book exhibition in
One thing they also have done is to open up a place in their website forum for me and for “Spouse Support”. This about spouse support and opening up for other people than just transgender people, I think is a very important step in the right direction. To me groups of various kinds often tend to segregate themselves by not being open to the public and other people’s point of views. This I think is a very good initiative and I hope spouses world wide will make use of it. Marianne and I know that a lot can be gained by meeting others and discuss these things. Marianne and I will most certainly be visible here, so don’t be afraid and feel free to join us.
So if the prospects for today most likely will be easy going, things happens anyway and Marianne and I most often take initiative that it does.
