I recently heard an astro-physicist answer a common question in an unusual way. The interviewer said to him, "Because you know about the vastness of the universe and complexities of stars and space, does this make you feel small and insignificant?" The scientist responded something like, "Quite the opposite. I've learned that as the universe was blooming [or whatever word he used] we were created out its same elements. So what's in stars is in us. That makes me feel very connected and significant.
